About Us
Dr. Raheem Kherani
Dr. Raheem B. Kherani is a clinical rheumatologist active in the general rheumatology care of patients, in Richmond and Vancouver. He is the principal rheumatologist at West Coast Rheumatology Associates. He completed his pharmacy and medical training at the University of Alberta, University of Toronto, McMaster University and the University of British Columbia (UBC). He enjoys working with interdisciplinary teams to help further patient care. He is a Clinical Associate Professor at UBC and serves in a variety of roles. He has a keen interest in health professions education and has collaborated with colleagues in local, national and international initiatives to positively impact the community.
Services
Rheumatologists are medical specialists of joint and muscle diseases. They complete a minimum of 5 years of postgraduate training including a focused two year sub-speciality residency. Rheumatologists are certified in General Internal Medicine and Rheumatology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Rheumatologists are sub-specialists focused on joint and muscles diseases. Common diseases that they treat are Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Osteoporosis, Sjögren’s Syndrome, Lupus, Scleroderma and Osteoarthritis.
Referrals
We DO NOT accept walk-in patients
All referrals MUST be made by another physician
Dr. Kherani sees patients throughout Vancouver and the Lower Mainland.
Dr. Kherani utilizes Telehealth (Medeo) for patients who may have difficulty in traveling a far distance
For physicians who would like to refer a patient to Dr. Kherani, please FAX all paperwork (including x-rays, bloodwork, etc.) to: 604-273-8043.
*Note that patients are triaged and appointments will be booked accordingly when completed paperwork has been received.
